SPACE EGYPT.

I think I want my next book to be set in ancient Egypt, or at least an ancient Egyptian-based society. We do the Western European thing to death, but I actually know a lot about Egypt and its lifestyles, and I think it would be fun.

That is all.

It would be fun. I don't know about over doing eastern Europe cultures, though. Western, yeah. But I'd like to see some Byzantine/Russian cultures in fantasy more often.

I'd definitely read this. Of course, I read whatever you write so maybe that's not helpful.

Eastern? Don't you mean western?

It would be interesting to do a Russian style culture, though in my limited knowledge, I think that at the time most western european fantasies are set, Russian culture was fairly similar to western. Or I dunno, I never actually studied it.

Very cool. I've always loved ancient Egypt. Growing up, two of my favorite books were Mara, Daughter of the Nile (YA), and Death Comes as the End (Mystery). I still love them both.
